Magnificent Failure

from The Festival Of Lights by Wayfarer State

/

lyrics

She has not left my mind, she haunts me when I sleep
She walks across my lawn with golden feet
She has honey, on her cherry red lips
Tobacco, beneath her finger tips
And the red spices, from an Indian ships
with an ivory hands ,slik across her hips

Magnificant failure, magnificent night
Magnificant lover , beautiful wife
Come here for the taking, take me away
Take me tonight , broken down train
Sell what you can, carry whats left
Walk across the desert, she is not impressed

My name crossed out, in her book with a star beside it
everything wicked, she offered me, ofcourse I had to tried it
and when she came into the room, so elegant and so slow
burgundy wine, with olive skin like a ghost
its too late for me now, its borrowed time at best
she still stirs, whats left inside my chest

don’t expect to see me, darling, when you get to those gates
I’ll be down here, by the train, with tom waits
ill be made to roam, the dark earth forever a ghost
trying to open all the doors, that have already been closed
ill glide across the ocean , the moonlit wicked sea
between the world of the dead and a midsummer nights dream
